The Big Book of Boochandis
Beloved bogeymen of Tamil Nadu, Boochandis are summoned to get unwilling kids to do as they're told... and they're here this Halloween!
Boochandis are everywhere.
Boochandis are here, there and in your hair.
Boochandis who have claws.
Boochandis who have furry paws.
Boochandis who have all their teeth.
Boochandis who have eaten too many sweets.
Boochandis who scowl.
Boochandis who are smelly and rather foul.
Boochandis who say ATCHOO!
Boochandis whose noses are full of goo.
Boochandis who giggle.
Boochandis whose tummies wiggle and jiggle.
Boochandis who glow in the night.
Boochandis who can’t be seen, even in the light.
Boochandis who love a treat.
Boochandis who chomp on your hands and feet.
Boochandis who are sneaky.
Boochandis whose backsides are slightly leaky.
Boochandis who can fly.
Boochandis at your window to peep and pry.
Boochandis who roam.
Boochandis who may be inside your home!
1. Boochandis are traditional monsters from Tamil Nadu who make kids do what they’re told. Can you think of some monsters that might similarly terrorise parents? What would they make your parents do?
